When you create an account we collect your email address and a password (handled by our authentication provider — we never see or store your password in plain text). You can optionally add a username and a profile photo. As you use the app we store the content you create: tournaments, series, matches, scores, team picks, friend connections, and the names you enter for guest players.
Your data is used to run the app — signing you in, showing your tournaments and stats, and connecting you with friends — and to understand how the app is used so we can fix problems and improve it. FutBoxd contains no advertising. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with data brokers, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
To see which features people actually use, and to find bugs before you have to report them, FutBoxd sends usage and diagnostic data to two providers.
PostHog receives in-app events — things like opening a screen, logging a match, or creating a tournament — together with your account ID and email address, so we can tell one person’s usage from another’s and answer your support questions. The events are ones we have named explicitly in the app; it does not capture what you type.
Sentry receives crashes and errors, together with your account ID and IP address. It also records a replay of roughly one session in ten, and of every session where something goes wrong. All text, images and graphics in those replays are masked — they show where taps and scrolls happened, not your scores, your friends’ names, or anything you have typed.
Neither provider receives your password. Neither is used for advertising, and neither passes your data on to anyone else.
Your username, profile photo, and email address are visible to people you are connected with: accepted friends, people with a pending friend request between you, and participants in tournaments, series, or matches you share. They are not visible to anyone else, and there is no public directory or search of users.
Your account and the content you create are stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider, and are encrypted in transit. Analytics events are held by PostHog on servers in the European Union, and crash reports by Sentry on servers in Germany. Your sign-in session is kept on your device in the operating system’s secure storage.
You can block any user to stop them from contacting you, and report users for abusive or inappropriate content or behavior from the Friends screen. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours, and we remove offending content and eject users who violate our standards.
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, photo, friend connections, and the tournaments you host. Matches you played against other people are kept for their records, but with your identity removed.
FutBoxd is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
